R.D. Hobbs, BA M Ed EDD, studied psychology and marketing at Marshall University, computers at Atlanta Tech, real estate and business law at Georgia State University, English linguistics (Dr. Libuse Duskova) and didactics and methodology of English pedagogy (Dr. Jarmila Mothejzikova) at Charles University Prague, lexicology at Humboldt University Berlin (Dr. Peter Lothar), comparative linguistics at Freie University Berlin (Dr. Ekkehard Konig), and education at the Mililani Campus of the Honolulu Hawaii branch of UOP. Hobbs learned languages at MU, GSU, Interac Japan, Mexican Consulate, Czech Tech, Berlitz Hamburg, Maison de France, Goethe Institute, Hardnachschule, Dante Alighieri, Prolingua Luxembourg, and American University of Kuwait (AUK).
Hobbs taught academic, business, banking, and technical English in Tokyo, Prague, Berlin, Luxembourg, Honolulu, and Kuwait in public and private sectors, coached gymnastics in Atlanta, and designed curriculum in Berlin and Kuwait. Hobbs also taught investment banking in Luxembourg, academic writing and educational psychology at AUK, biology to nursing students and social studies to high school students in Hawaii, TOEFL at Czech Technical University, and tax update courses to tax professionals in Atlanta.
Hobbs served as academic supervisor for the Joint Command and Staff College master of military science program, interim supervisor at AMIDEAST (affiliate of American Embassy), principal of a Kuwait bilingual school, manager of tax offices in Honolulu and Atlanta, and underwriter of commercial loans at the SBA (Small Business Administration) in the complex loan department.
