Biography:
Dr. Gamal M. Elmarsafi holds several accredited degrees; Bachelor of Science (BS) and Master of Science (MS) in Engineering and Construction field from New Jersey Institute of Technology, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Organization and Management from Capella University School of Business and Technology.
He received Certification in Construction Engineering Technology from National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies and is a member of The National Society of Professional Engineers and member of Westlaw Round Table Group’s expert network, to serve as expert witness professional. Negotiated construction dispute problems affecting stakeholders and resolved approximately $750 million of disputed claims.
Dr. Gamal managed team of professionals and oversaw numerous government infrastructure contracts for the New York City Department of Environmental Protection and Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. The work involved the coordination of large infrastructure contracts from feasibility studies through construction completion totaling approximately $2 Billion.
Dr. Gamal is a Business and Engineering Consultant, received awards from FEMA for his contribution in the recovery efforts caused by mass flooding in Mendocino County State of California. He also received awards and recognitions from the Governor of Louisiana State and from FEMA for his role in the long-term recovery and strategy plan in New Orleans City and Plaquemine Parish following the damage caused by Hurricane “Katrina”.
Prior to teaching business and technology at Devry University-Keller Graduate School of business Dr. Gamal published “Interorganizational Collaboration: Transformation Strategies to Reduce Construction Disputes” and conducted seminars in legal aspects of architecture, engineering and the construction process including ethics, organization management and leadership. He uses effective delivery methods that carry academic theory and subject matter to the learner’s industry experiences. Stimulate discussion and enrich learning material to pre-existing knowledge base. His primary research areas of interest include Organization Behavior, Managing Quality and Advanced Program Management.
