Dr. Thomas E. Bennett, Jr.


Dr. Thomas E. Bennett, Jr. is a 5th generation Oklahoman with over 41 years at three of Oklahoma’s fastest growing banks. He is currently Chairman & Co-CEO of First Oklahoma Bank, which has grown in 9 years to over $700 million in assets. Dr. Thomas has a Bachelor’s in Sociology from Oklahoma State University, a Master’s in Public Administration from Harvard University, and a Ph.D. in Business Administration from OSU.

Dr. Thomas has served as a White House Fellow and Special Assistant to the Comptroller of the Currency in Washington, D.C. and Senior Advisor and Coordinator of Strategic Planning for the Oklahoma Department of Commerce.  Dr. Bennett’s professional has also served as State Chairman of the Robert Morris Associates, and National Director of the Independent Bankers Association.  In 2018, Dr. Thomas joined the Advisory Board for Oklahoma State University’s school of Global Studies and Partnerships.

Dr. Thomas has written over 70 articles in national publications including Inc. magazine, The Robert Morris Journal of Commercial Bank Lending, the Tulsa World, and The Rural News.
