Biography:
A Coloradoan, Dr. Patricia (Trish) A. Champion holds several degrees including a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from the University of Northern Colorado; a Master of Arts (MA) in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Northern Colorado; and a Doctorate of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership from the University of Phoenix School of Advanced Studies. She also holds state endorsements in Early Childhood and Gifted and Talented Education from the University of Northern Colorado.
Dr. Trish is a former teacher of gifted and talented education in Cherry Creek School District for more than twenty years. She is currently a university professor serving as adjunct assistant faculty for the University of Iowa in the Belin-Blank International Center for Gifted Education and Talent Development.
Dr. Trish is an active member in Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority, American Association of University Women, and Pi Lambda Theta, an honor society for professional educators. Her doctoral study, Equity vs Excellence: A Delphi study examining the future ramifications of NCLB on gifted education programs provided her the opportunity to publish her study in Kaleidoscope Magazine (2008, June), a journal for educators of gifted and talented students.
