Biography:
Dr. Le-Marlié Marais resides in Johannesburg, South Africa’s largest city. Dr. Marais, also known as Dr. Lee, served as voluntary adjunct faculty with the University of the People, a tuition-free online university dedicated to opening access to higher education for qualified individuals. Dr. Lee co-owns and manages Njovu Strategic and Operational Advisors, a firm providing a range of services to the mining industry in Sub-Saharan Africa. She is a business professional, with 18 years of experience in the mining industry, in a variety of roles including operations management, organizational development, employee and community engagement, and business administration. Additionally, she is a certified practitioner of the MBTI Step I and Step II instruments.
Dr. Lee is a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society since 2014 as well as a member of the Delta Mu Delta International Honor Society in Business since 2016.
She is an aspiring author and published works include her dissertation: Exploring leaders’ strategies for employee engagement in the South African mining industry and her conference paper: Stakeholder engagement in the South African gold mining industry presented at the Mining and Communities Solutions 2016 Conference held in Vancouver, Canada.
