Dr. David M. Mula


Dr. David M. Mula resides in New Orleans, Louisiana and holds a Doctor of Business Administration from Walden University, and Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration from Upper Iowa University (UIU). He has over 11 years of faculty experience with UIU’s graduate and undergraduate programs teaching leadership, team building, organizational theory, and strategic planning.

A member of the Louisiana National Guard (LANG) since 1995, Dr. David holds the rank of Sergeant Major (SGM) and is assigned as the J-5 Strategic Plans and Exercises SGM. During the pandemic he assisted multiple State agencies with data projections, strategic planning, process design and improvement. Concurrently he served as the Operations SGM at the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security supporting LANG’s command group during the historic 2020 hurricane season.

Dr. David is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, awarded the 2019 Secretary of the Army’s Process Improvement Program Team Excellence Award, Enterprise Level. He is also responsible for assessing LANG’s enterprise practices and processes using the Baldrige Criteria.

He has published work in the field of employee turnover in the Refractive Thinker®: Vol. VII and in strategic leadership with his dissertation, Examining Emotional Intelligence and Transformational Leadership Within U.S. Army National Guard Leaders.
