Biography:
Dr. Adam O. Pierce hails from Smithfield, VA and currently lives in Chesapeake, Va. Dr. Adam holds several information security certifications including; Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Penetration Tester (CPT), Security +, Network + and Linux +. His higher educational degrees are; a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in History from Old Dominion University; a Master of Science (MS) in Network and Communications Management from the Keller Graduate School of Management; a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Walden University; and a Doctorate of Business Administration (DBA) from Walden University.
Dr. Adam is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Maryland University College (UMUC), where he has taught Network Security, Fundamentals of Networking, Ethical Hacking, and Linux Administration. Nothing brings him more joy than seeing his students learn. He is a member of the Urban League of Hampton Roads Young Professionals, ISACA, and ISC2
Dr. Adam is an Information Systems Security Analyst at NASA’s Longley Research Center in Hampton, Va. He is also the CEO and Founder of Pierce & Long LLC., an information technology and cybersecurity startup company. His doctoral study, Exploring the Cybersecurity Hiring Gap, provided a glimpse into the processes used by successful hiring managers in companies that provide cybersecurity services to DoD and provided him with a unique opportunity to gain valuable insight into DoD contracting.
